DIY Thursday: Family Tree

Welcome to DIY Thursday! This week I will show you a cute way to personalize a wall in your home! Here is what you will need:

-EAD Designs Old Tree 1
-EAD Designs Personalized Family Name Est. 2

I wanted to jazz up this blank wall that is in our kitchen behind the door. Our kitchen has a lot of browns and creams and whites in it, so I thought I would go with that color scheme.

?I ordered the Old Tree 1 in brown, as seen below.

?I peeled the backing off and rubbed the tree onto the center of my wall.

?When removing the transfer paper, you have to go VERY slowly with the tree, because there are so many small branches that you can stretch and damage if you go too fast.

?Next, I took my Est. Sign in white.

?And I cut the date separate from our name.

?First, I peeled the backing off of the Est. Date and smoothed that onto the wall underneath my tree.

?Here is what it looked like after I very carefully removed the transfer paper.

?Finally, I centered our family name in the middle of the tree branches.

?Once I removed the transfer paper, this is what I had!

?

?It fills the space perfectly and coordinates very well with our colors! When the door is open, you can't see it and I am okay with that. The door is open probably 80% of the time, but now when it is closed there will be a stylish wall art element behind it! And who knows, maybe we will close it more!

See you next week!?
